Prof. Wertman began his quest for defeating dementia by earning his MD at the Hadassah Medical School, Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
He was granted a fellowship in behavioral and cognitive neurology at the Veteran Administration/Shands hospital, University of Florida, under the academic and clinical mentorship of Prof. K.M. Heilman.
When Professor Wertman returned to Israel, He was chosen to lead the Neuropsychogeriatrics and Neurobehavioral Division at Sarah Herzog geriatric hospital, Jerusalem.
For decades, he’s been teaching behavioral neurology and clinical neuropsychology at the Hadassah Medical School and the Hebrew University.
He is a member of the scientific board of “Emda,” the Alzheimer’s Association of Israel and “Melabev,” a sizeable Israeli organization that supports psychosocial aspects among Alzheimer’s’ and dementia patients.
